The New York State Department of Transportation will hold an open house meeting on May 2 regarding safety improvements to the intersection of NY Route 176 and County Route 7 in the town of Hannibal.

Twenty local businesses and employers, with 7,000 workers in Oswego, Jefferson and St. Lawrence counties, are among the first to receive low-cost power grants under the state’s new ReCharge New York program.

Members of the Oswego Health Auxiliary have presented three scholarships to employees of the health system that are advancing their careers.

The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County.

“This is a great program that keeps expired and unused medications out of the wrong hands—be it children or adults,” Assemblyman Will Barclay said.

New York State law requires that all cats, dogs, and pet ferrets be vaccinated against rabies. The first rabies vaccine should be given at three months of age. A second vaccination is required within one year of the first, and every three years thereafter.

An initiative of Oswego’s Campus-City Relations Committee, People Against Poverty and SUNY Oswego’s Campus Life and Residence Life and Housing offices will encourage students to donate rather than discard household and personal items as they prepare to leave town for the summer.

To qualify, students must earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and have accumulated a minimum of 45 credit hours.
