The State University of New York at New Paltz will hold the May 2012 Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony on May 20 at 10 a.m. on the Old Main Quadrangle.

An executive session at the beginning of the meeting will discuss matters of personnel and litigation at 5 p.m. The public portion of the meeting will reconvene at 6 p.m.

Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,I-Pulaski) expressed dismay and the need for legislative action after the New York State Court of Appeals ruled last week that viewing child pornography is not a crime

Students in the Hannibal Central School District will be released 15 minutes early on May 24, as a preparedness drill in compliance with the district’s Emergency Response Plan.

Carol Burghart, a Lakeside Artisans member, will teach a class in Watercolor Painting on May 24 from 6-9 p.m. The class will take place at Lakeside Artisans, 191 W. First St.

Families, friends and members of the Oswego Board of Education joined the celebration along with Superintendent of Schools Crist, Oswego High School Executive Principal Brian Hartwell and long time National Honor Society advisor Michael McCrobie.

Members of the Cayuga Community College Fulton Campus Student Activities Board recently hosted their second Annual Peace Festival for the community. Organizations and clubs from the college sponsored for youth and distributed prizes.

The program provides hearing aids at low cost for up to ten children per year in partnership with Hear 2 Learn, a pediatric therapy and service agency.  The grant will cover the cost of consultations with an audiologist, the hearing aids, and support and training once the hearing aids are fitted. Children aged 4 to 18 are eligible.
