A special group of Volunteers raging in age from nine to ninety-six were honored recently at Bishop’s Commons in recognition of their service to the seniors of the enriched living residence.

The United States Naval Sea Cadet Corp, Truxtun DDG-103 Division Oswego, will hold a breakfast this Sunday (April 15), at The Veterans of Foreign Wars. This will be a full menu breakfast from 8 a.m. until noon. The Sea Cadets  will hold their monthly drill April 14 and 15 at the Mc Crobie Building, 41 Lake St.

Move Along invites you to its fourth annual “Shoot for the Stars” event, on April 21 at Oswego High School, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is a 3 vs. 3 tournament compiled of community sponsored teams and members.

Lakeshore Hardwoods, 266 Manwaring Road, Pulaski, recently donated a hand-crafted steamer trunk to the H. Lee White Marine Museum for their premier gala, “A Titanic Affair.”

On April 20, the Oswego Y is celebrating Healthy Kids Day with a free community event for kids and families in the Oswego Community.

It’s no secret that more and more Canadians are traveling south to take advantage of bargains here in New York State.  Now, two important changes are taking place that are expected to boost the number of Canadian shoppers in the North Country and Central New York.

All area service clubs, sports teams, booster clubs, scouts, churches, youth groups, crafters and vendors, etc are invited to attend an informational meeting on April 14 at 5 p.m. in regards to the SOS FEST.

In August, the Oswego Yacht Club, a charter member club of LYRA, will host the 128th annual LYRA event for the first time since 1928.

Nine Mile Point Unit 2 was taken offline on April 9 at 12:02 a.m. for the refueling outage. The last refueling outage for Unit 2 began on April 2, 2010 and ended on May 3, 2010.
