For youth in the greater Mexico area there is an answer to the often-heard statement, “there’s nothing to do”.  Oswego County’s Youth Drop-In Center in Mexico offers youth a variety of things to do, all in a safe, relaxed environment.

SUNY Oswego’s State Singers will offer an eclectic concert of songs under the theme “On the Nature of Things” at 7:30 p.m. April 26, at First United Methodist Church, 7111 State Route 104.

On Tuesday Michael Callahan and Brian Girard received their Third Degree at Lake City 127 Lodge Free and Accepted Masons. Completing their third degree both brothers are now Master Masons.

Air Force Tech. Sgt. Casey Dawley, a computer programmer with the Air Force Institute of Technology, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, graduated from the Noncommissioned Officer Academy at The I.G. Brown Training and Education Center.

“A Titanic Affair” will be the Marine Museum’s signature event for 2012 as part of a year-long commemoration of the sinking of Titanic. It is being held at the American Foundry. The venue will allow for ballroom dancing, a silent auction, the re-creation of the eight-course dinner served to first class passengers on the ship, displays and more.

Corning Glass Technologies Chief Technology Officer Peter Bocko, a SUNY Oswego alumnus, will speak on campus as part of the Augustine Silveira Jr. Distinguished Lecture Series on April 25.

The Fulton Family YMCA Preschool will be holding its spring open house on April 27 from 6 – 8 p.m. for the 2012-13 school years. The Fulton Family YMCA’s Pre-school offers programs for children ages 2 to 5.

‘Which came first, the chicken or the egg?’ For students in Mrs. Walter’s class at Parish Elementary School in the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown School District, that answer would be, ‘why the egg, of course.’

Melanie Trexler, executive director of United Way of Greater Oswego County, has announced that Kayla Lynskey has joined the staff as an intern. A senior at SUNY Oswego, Lynskey is working with the agency’s staff in the area of social media.
