Easter Egg Hunt with “Green Eggs And Ham” At Parish Public Library
On Saturday, April 23rd the Friends of the Parish Public Library sponsored an Easter Egg Hunt and Dan Dalin’s reading of “Green Eggs & Ham”.
Executive Director of Oswego County Opportunities, Diane Cooper-Courier introduced the new members of OCO’s Board of Directors during the agency’s annual meeting held April 27 at Springside at Seneca Hill. Cynthia Thrower, a mother of a 36-year old challenged son, is a community volunteer who is also involved in ministering to others. Daniel Thrower brings with him 45 years of experience as a pastor, corrections counselor, teacher and business owner.
Faculty, staff and students of Cayuga Community College’s Fulton Campus are accepting donations of new and gently used children’s books for the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s Success By 6 Program. The book drive is to collect children’s books for distribution during Fulton’s annual Memorial Day Parade.
Oswego County Opportunities recognized nominees for the agency’s prestigious Amelia Whelahan Award. Established in memory of a dedicated and committed member of the OCO family that served as a member of the very first board of directors for OCO, the award is given annually to a staff member who is easily identified as a true leader and who has made outstanding contributions to OCO and the Human Services profession.
Comprised of human service agencies that have a nutrition focus, school districts, food pantries, the Rural Health Network, and concerned community members, the Nutrition Collaboration has begun its mission of working together to positively affect nutrition, wellness, and hunger in Oswego County.
