On Monday evening (Dec. 5), young artists, their parents, siblings and community members had the opportunity to view student art work in the Oswego Public Library adult gallery. In the past the area outside of the library community room, was dedicated to the artistic expressions of adults. However, on this evening there was something a bit different on the walls.
SUNY Oswego last month signed its first international agreement for a mutual degree program in the natural sciences, establishing a “two-plus-two” program in chemistry with Zhejiang Gongshang University in Hangzhou, eastern China.
At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary Meeting, President Peggy Donnelly introduced Brian Webb who is the Coach for the Fulton Raiders FC Girls Indoor Soccer team.
The college was founded in 1861. This year the college is hosting its Sesquicentennial Celebration with a number of special events.
Team members have placed red bins at both the Cullinan Ice Rink at Kingsford Park School and the Crisafulli Ice Rink at Fort Ontario in Oswego where community members can leave their donations of returnable bottles and cans, or call 315-529-0052 for pickup.
Pam Weaver, director of Community Education National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, visited the Oswego City School District recently. She gave educational presentations involving internet safety for children throughout the district.
Timothy Conners, an 11th-grader at G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton, says he’s up for the challenge of dealing with both cancer and blindness. Laura Smith was awarded Aurora’s Mattie Letham Community Leadership Award. She is the president of the Oswego County Visually Impaired organization.
