St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research, will host one of its signature head-shaving events at SUNY Oswego’s Campus Center Food Court where (hopefully) more than 75 anticipated “shavees” will shave their heads in solidarity with kids with cancer.
ARISE advocates joined hundreds of other advocates from across the state in Albany on February 14 for New York Association on Independent Living Legislative Day. ARISE advocates used the opportunity to highlight the ongoing issues faced by people with disabilities
Mayor Thomas Gillen will speak at the Oswego Rotary Club on Tuesday. The meeting will be held at the American Foundry. He will discuss his hopes and plans for the city. The public is most welcome to attend.

Three war ships: the USS Wilkes, the USS Truxtun and the USS Pollux unknowingly sailed into danger on what would be their last run from the East Coast to the North Atlantic near Lawn Point and St. Lawrence, Newfoundland.
Stephanie Goodell of Panther Lake, NY, was inspired to pursue a nursing career after her younger brother was injured in serious car accident and she learned to care for him during his rehabilitation.

SUNY Oswego groups will collaborate in a fast-paced and varied evening at the “Collage” concert, an annual fundraiser for the music department, on Friday, March 2. Performers spanning classical, jazz and other genres will take the stage by turns from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Tyler Hall’s Waterman Theatre.
Once again the United Way of Greater Oswego County is partnering with community-based organizations to help raise awareness of a program that has benefited hundreds of families throughout Oswego County.
Superintendent Joseph A. D’Amico has promoted Casey L. Gray, 43, of Pulaski, Oswego County to First Sergeant and assigned him to Troop D Headquarters in Oneida.
