Ritchie Votes to Help Families with Autism

Once again the students of the Frederick Leighton Elementary School held a talent show to benefit the school wide PBIS effort as well as the Human Concern Center.

Oswego County Opportunities’ Youth Drop-In Center in Mexico offers youth a variety of things to do, all in a safe, relaxed environment. Located in the Wilcox Center at Spring and Church streets, the center is open Tuesdays from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. during the school year and 2 to 5 p.m. during the summer.

On Aug. 13 and 14, beginning at 10 a.m. each day, rain or shine, Cheap Seats Sports Bar & Grille will host a Co-Ed Volleyball Tournament to benefit two of Catholic Charities’ most in-demand programs, its food pantry and CYO.

On Thursday Rotary Past District Governor Ward Vuilemot and Richard Kemmis spoke to the Oswego Sunrise Rotary about Books For the World.

As usual the United Way Golf Classic will offer participants something new, a chance to win the “Good Life.” Thanks to the support of area businesses the United Way Golf Committee have prepared 10 specially themed packages that will be available as part of a “pick-a-prize” that will take place during the United Way’s Golf Classic.

The Sandy Harrison Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to an Oswego High School senior for outstanding scholastic achievement and student involvement in the school community.

The students and seniors have been writing to each other twice a month this school year getting to know each other, and talking about everything from hobbies to current events. The pairs recently met face to face in the culmination of a year long pen pal program called KPS Connections.
Catholic Charities of Oswego County will be offering several very special summer groups to benefit area youth age 6 through 10.
