Symposium Honors Local Soldiers of the War of 1812

Historian Shawn Doyle will present a talk about local War of 1812 soldiers at the Oswego County War of 1812 Symposium on Saturday, April 2. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the American Foundry on West Seneca Street in Oswego. Pictured are Pulaski resident Ralph Price (1793-1874) with his daughters (l-r) Polly, Cordelia, Caroline and Lydia. Price served in the War of 1812 and was one of many who belonged to the Town of Richland Militia that responded to the call of duty at Sackets Harbor. Retirement Party Scheduled For Oswego County Undersheriff

Robert J. Lighthall recently announced his intent to retire from his position as Undersheriff with the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office effective March 31. In his honor, a retirement party will be held at the Castaways Riverside Restaurant located at 916 County Route 37, Brewerton, on April 2.
