Fulton Mill Apartments Kicks Off I’m OK Program

Representatives from the American Red Cross of Central New York and Catholic Charities of Oswego County presented residents of Fulton Mill Apartments who volunteering for the I’m OK Program with ID badges and their responsibilities as a Red Cross volunteer. In the front row from left are: Barbara Wilkins, Alice Hannig, Mary Hoyt, Myrtle Craw and Phyllis Walts. In the back row from left are: Mary McCaw, Margaret Mack, Leon Smith, Mary Arcadi, Betty Wells, Donna Avery, director of emergency services at Catholic Charities Helen Hoefer, Priscilla Marcino, executive director of Catholic Charities of Oswego County Mary Margaret Pezzella-Pekow, Ruth Harmer, chapter services associate for the American Red Cross of Central New York Susan Pope, Cinda Shupe, Red Cross volunteer coordinator Jezanna Osier and resident services coordinator for Fulton Mill Apartments Ann Casey.

An initiative of the American Red Cross, I’m OK is a neighbor-to-neighbor program that will benefit residents who live alone as it ensures residents that in the event of something happening to them they will receive attention in a timely manner.

United Way Promotes Earned Income Tax Credit Program

Members of SUNY Oswego’s School of Business Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program are offering free income tax preparation. Fom left are: David Passonno SUNY student volunteer; Tiffany Chiu, SUNY student coordinator; Jenna Barr SUNY student volunteer; and Michael Kurdyla, SUNY student volunteer.

The United Way of Greater Oswego County would like to remind families throughout Oswego County about the advantages of applying for the Earned Income Tax Credit program.

Mural of Memories’ Art Camp Continues

Mural of Memories Art Camp organized by Girl Scout Paige Gray (far right) with art students have fun experimenting with charcoal! By Friday, the art camp students will paint a portable mural.

On day one the camp members learned about color and the color wheel, a value scale, charcoal and the portable mural they will design and paint by the end of the week.

The honorary Head Pin for OCO’s Annual Bowl-a-Fun visited Granby Elementary School recently to take part in the Fulton School Mentoring Program. The honorary head pin for Oswego County Opportunities’ upcoming Bowl-A-Fun, the Pink Guardian Angel, enjoyed a fun, learning experience when it visited Granby Elementary School to participate in the Fulton Mentoring Program.
