Kids Bike Rodeo Part of Novelis 10Kan Activities

The Novelis 10Kan events will feature a kids’ bike rodeo for those ages five through eight from 9 a.m. to noon at Breitbeck Park. Kids who wish to take part are encouraged to bring their own bike. In the photo at a bike rodeo held earlier this year are Nicholas Kaufman, age two, and his sister, Julianna Kaufman, age 4. Also in the photo is Billie Crandall-Brady, coordinator of the Oswego County Traffic Safety Board.Area children can have their own fun at the Novelis 10Kan event on September 18th at Breitbeck Park in Oswego.

Now THAT Was a Car!

A very special group of cars and their drivers recently visited the Oswego County Historical Society Richardson-Bates House Museum. This international group called the “Model T Ford Collectors Association” held a gathering in Weedsport and added a “Day in Oswego” as part of it. The first stop was to take a tour of the museum and learn about the history of Oswego County. Thirty-five visitors enjoyed their tours with the society’s Board of Trustees members. Shown are two of the fancy cars parked in front of the museum. Tours of the museum are available Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. or by special appointment. Oswego Lions Club 5th Annual Child Safety Day with “Cow Chip Bingo”

Oswego Lions Club 5th Annual Cow Chip Bingo will take place September 11th at Fort Ontario from 12:00 to 3:00 pm.  “Deeds” for the event are being sold for $10.00 each. To buy tickets or get more information about the event please contact Chairperson Karen Hammond at 342-0043.  In photo from right is Lion Karen Hammond with last year's winner Leah Haggerty, purchasing her ticket for this year's event.  The Oswego Lions Club will hold their 5th Annual Child Safety Day with “Cow Chip Bingo” on Saturday, September 11th, at Fort Ontario. The Child Safety Day is scheduled from 11 am to 3 pm, and admission is free.
