Extra Hours at Richardson-Bates House Museum

During the month of July the Oswego County Historical Society  Richardson-Bates House Museum will add Wednesdays to its tour calendar  as part of the society’s “Be Historical – Keep Our History Alive!”  project. Therefore the museum will be open for tours from 1 to 5 p.m.  Wednesday through Saturday each week. At the end of July the schedule  will return to Thursday through Saturday until the end of December.  Shown, in front of the museum sign, from left, are board members Barb  Hanley and Justin White, Oswego AmeriCorps member Nicole Westerbeck, and  board member Lyn Patterson. Oswego Library Opens Display Featuring Harborfest Poster Designs

The Oswego Public Library features a Harborfest-themed display  that includes art submitted as part of the Oswego City School District  Harborfest Design Contest.  The primary design incorporated into the  2010 Harborfest Poster was designed by 10th grade Oswego High School  Student Austin Demott.  The Public Library Display will be open for the  entire month of July during normal Library hours. During this past school year, Harborfest and the Oswego City School District teamed up on a design contest to determine the 2010 Harborfest design theme to be used on the cover of this year’s program, Harborfest Information Guide and as the Harborfest 2010 commemorative poster.
