Honors Week at SUNY Oswego will culminate in the college-wide Honors Convocation at 3 p.m. Friday, April 23, in the Campus Center arena and convocation hall. More than 100 SUNY Oswego students will receive awards for their academic achievements at this formal academic ceremony.

Fulton PD Announces Operation Safe Stop

The law says it is illegal – and very dangerous – to pass a stopped school bus when the red lights located on top of the bus are flashing. You must stop whether you are approaching the school bus from the front or overtaking it from the rear. You must always stop for flashing red lights, even on divided highways and on school grounds.

Scrabble Fest Boasts Unique Raffles and Auction Items

This year Literacy Volunteers of Oswego County (LVOC) will feature many unique items in raffles and auctions during the 4th Annual Diane Falise Memorial Scrabble Fest to be held on Friday, April 23, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., at the Oswego Elkâ€™s Lodge, 132 W. Fifth St., Oswego.

Gilman Memorial Fund Established

A group of SUNY Oswego alumni have established a memorial fund in memory of P. Kevin Gilman of Oswego, a 1974 graduate of the college, who passed away Dec. 17 at age 58.

The sinking of the Titanic will be the topic at the April 17 meeting of the Oswego Town Historical Society, which will take place Saturday, at 10 am at the Oswego Town Hall.

Fulton Library Plans Dinner to Raise Funds for New Elevator

Aubertine Bill Promotes Food Donations to Charities, Protects Restaurants, Farms From Worrisome Liability

The New York State Senate today passed legislation (58-0) known as the New York Restaurant Lending a Helping Hand Act, introduced by Sen. Darrel J. Aubertine, which would allow restaurants to make good faith donations of leftover food to charitable organizations without the threat of liability.
