Teachers “Plunge for the Pantry”
For the second year, volunteers from the Phoenix Central School Teacher’s Association will “Plunge for the Pantry†on Saturday, January 9, 2010. The courageous PCSTA members will jump in the frigid waters of the Oswego River at North Island in Phoenix at 1:00 p.m. The “jumpers†have acquired monetary sponsors to back them in order to raise money for the Phoenix Food Pantry.

Visitors Invited to Explore Winona Forest by Ski and Dog Sled on Jan. 16
Mushers, skiers, and outdoor lovers of all ages are invited to explore the Winona Forest Recreation Area on Saturday, Jan. 16, at the third annual Winona Forest Recreation Association (WFRA) Winterfest. The event starts at 9 a.m. at the CCC Camp on Co. Rt. 90 in Lorraine. The recreation area features more than 70 miles of groomed trails in northern Oswego and southern Jefferson counties.
