Share The “Joy of Christmas” in Minetto on Dec. 13
The New Horizons Band and Chorus will perform along with the Humble Men and soloist Dan Williams. Dan will join Grace Raes for an organ/piano duet, and carol sing by everyone. The program will close with seasonal music sung by the Joy of Christmas Chorus. The Chorus, is led by Mary Lou Carpenter-Bjorkman, and is made up of the Minetto UMC Chancel Choir and guests. There will be opportunities for the audience to join in singing some favorite Christmas carols.

Sea Cadets Hold Drill
The U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corp Truxtun DDG-103 Division in Oswego will hold its monthly drill this Saturday and Sunday December 12th and 13th at the Mc Crobie Building. The Drill will be from 0700 (7Am) Saturday December 12th until 1600 (4Pm) Sunday December 13th.

2010 Emergency Planning Calendar Highlights Oswego County Scenes
The calendar is a joint effort of Constellation Energy, Entergy Nuclear, the Oswego County Emergency Management Office, the Oswego County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning, and the New York State Emergency Management Office. It contains guidelines for public response to radiological and other types of emergencies for people that live within ten miles of Nine Mile Point.

Students Reach New Heights at Lanigan Lift-off
Students in Lanigan Elementary School had a real ‘blast’ at the recent Lanigan Lift-Off program held at the school. This new program focuses on reinforcing the Fulton City School District’s Positive Behaviors and Interventions Services (PBIS) initiative, promoting a TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) attitude and uniting the entire Lanigan student and staff family.

As Thanksgiving passes by and the holiday season continues, it often brings up thoughts of new beginnings, whether it’s in the form of starting a new calendar year or a New Years resolution. Students in the Oswego County BOCES Adult Education Practical Nursing program definitely have these concepts on their minds as they are nearing the completion of their educational program.

Local Eateries Support United Way Stone Soup Luncheon
Scheduled for Thursday, December 10th, the United Way’s Annual ‘Stone Soup’ Holiday Luncheon, which is open to the public, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Parish Center on West First in Oswego. The festive holiday event serves as a fundraiser to help stock the shelves of food pantries throughout Oswego County.

Fulton CYO Announces Annual Christmas Party
The CYO Program at Catholic Charities of Oswego County will hold its annual Christmas Party on Thursday, December 17th from 4:00 to 5:45 p.m. The party is open to all boys and girls in grades K thru 6th. Admission is free and children will enjoy a variety of games and contests as well as making Christmas crafts. The party will also feature refreshments, treats and a special visit from Santa Claus!
