Live Nativity and Nativities by Candlelight at SW Oswego United Methodist Church

Southwest Oswego United Methodist Church will present their annual “Live Nativity” on Saturday, December 12th from 6 until 8 p.m. Church members of all ages will portray the Holy Family, angels and Wise Men. The outdoor event takes place in the shed and also features live animals. Look for the star high above.

Nativity Scene Will Come Alive In Baldwinsville

The stable where Jesus Christ was born is one of the places visitors will see during this year's Live Nativity at First United Methodist Church in Baldwinsville. Last year, some of those watching over the newborn baby were (from left) "shepherd" Barbara Derby and her sheep, along with "angels" Molly Derby, Allie Derby and Kyra Phelps. The outdoor event, regardless of the weather, is 3 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 20 at the church, 17 W. Genesee St. It is free and open to the public and includes the Caroling Cafe, inside the church, featuring live Christmas music and refreshments.Using the Christmas story as it is told in the Biblical gospels of Matthew and Luke, the church’s Live Nativity will appeal to those familiar with the Christmas story as well as those who may be seeing and hearing it for the first time. The reenactment will take place outside the church, regardless of the weather.

SingSOS! announces the release today of an album of original songs about autism. SingSOS!/Songs of the Spectrum is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that enlists the power of music to spread the word about autism spectrum disorders and the importance of early detection and intensive intervention. Partial proceeds from album sales will benefit regional nonprofits working with individuals on the autism spectrum, including ARC of Oswego County and Oswego Industries, Inc.

Oswego Area Residents Invited To Sing Christmas Carols at OHS

The Oswego Evangelical Alliance will bring a time of Community Christmas Caroling to be presented at the Oswego High School, on Sunday December 13, at 7 p.m. Oswego area church choirs and students from the OHS Music department will participate. The audience will be invited to join in the singing of familiar and favorite Christmas Carols.

Lifeline allows seniors and others with medical conditions to live more independently, knowing that medical help is just a phone call away. Subscribers wear a small, simple to use device that if need be can be used to summon medical help.
