United Way Gets Football Tickets From Former SU Star
Former NFL and Syracuse University football star Chris Gedney presents Mary Tetro of the United Way of Greater Oswego County with tickets, courtesy of the Syracuse Orange Club SU Football supporters and the executive board members of the Syracuse Orange Club, to the Syracuse University Orangemen’s football home opener on September 5th against the University of Minnesota. The United Way distributed the tickets to youth in Oswego County. Gedney, who is the assistant director of Athletics-Syracuse University Orange Club, also served as the keynote speaker at the United Way’s Annual Campaign Kick-Off Breakfast, held Wednesday, September 9th at the American Foundry in Oswego.

Though earlier in the week Senate Republicans appeared ready to vote down important Green Jobs/Green New York legislation to create jobs and help New Yorkers make their homes more energy efficient, state Sen. Darrel J. Aubertine won the support of 21 Republican colleagues late Thursday night to pass the bill 52-8.
