Constellation Energy’s Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station Collects Food for Local Pantry
The food drive was in addition to a recent financial sponsorship of the Food Bank of Central New York. Employees collected boxes of pantry staples such as peanut butter, cereal, tuna fish and other items to assist a local food pantry recover from the summer months when many emergency food programs see a significant increase in need and decrease in donations.

McDonald Cancer Memorial Nearing October Dedication
The Joyce McDonald Cancer Memorial (for all cancer victims in Oswego County) will hold a meeting at 6:30 P.M., on Monday September 22nd, in the Fellowship Hall of the Bristol Hill Church. The church is located on Route #3, one mile East of Volney Center. The public is invited.

On Saturday, September 27, the Salmon River Steward program will offer guided tours of Salmon River Falls Unique Area in Orwell, east of Pulaski, NY. The Falls tours will be offered at 9:30am and 3:00pm starting at the main kiosk near the parking lot.

McHugh Applauds Release of LIHEAP Contingency Funds
Congressman John M. McHugh (NY-Pierrepont Manor) today strongly supported the announcement by the President that the remaining Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) contingency funds for FY 2008 will be released. A total of $120.7 million will be disbursed as a result of this action, with New York State getting the largest share at $12.1 million. This brings the total LIHEAP funding for New York State to $359,628,405.

Renzi: Overspending At Root Of Albany’s Fiscal Crisis
