Rudyard Kipling wrote, “The Road to Mandalay where the flying fish play…” Kipling was never in Mandalay and there are no flying fish as it is not on the sea but it is located inland on the Irrawaddy River. It was the last home of the royal family of Myanmar. Air Asia now has a direct flight from Bangkok so we decided to revisit.

Visiting Macau from Hong Kong is a no-brainer. It takes one hour on the TurboJet Ferry ($20) which departs about every 15 minutes. Macau is one of two Special Administrative Regions of China. The other is Hong Kong. It is part of the philosophy of “One country, two systems.”
CNY Arts Center will bring back ‘Searching for Eden: The Diaries of Adam and Eve’ for an encore one-weekend only. Performances will be April 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m. and April 6 at 3 p.m. at CNY Arts Center, 357 State St.
The musical work – composed and directed by Michael A. Bolio, and featuring the talents of the Christian rock band The Sent Forth – will play for one performance on April 5 in the Jubilee Hall of Holy Trinity Parish, 309 Buffalo St., Fulton. Curtain time for the performance is 7:30 p.m. Proceeds from the event will go to help support the mission of Catholic Charities of Oswego County.
Dancer, historian and choreographer Ligia Pinheiro will explore Baroque music as inspiration for styles of dance from classical to modern in a SUNY Oswego Focus on Faculty performance with pianist and music faculty member Juan La Manna at 3 p.m. April 6, in Sheldon Hall ballroom.
The romantic comedy written by James Still and starring Peter and Kelly Mahan in the roles of Adam and Eve will be presented for three performances only, April 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m. and April 6 at 3 p.m. The performances will be presented as dessert theatre where desserts are included in the ticket price of $15.
Hong Kong is often our entry city into Asia. It is a wonderful place to visit so we usually plan to spend three or more days there getting adjusted to the time difference. Hong Kong is comprised of Kowloon Peninsula and 100s of islands. Getting from the airport on Chek Lao Kok Island to the Conrad Hotel on Hong Kong Island was very smooth as it always is in HK.
The Jazz Ambassadors, an ensemble of the U.S. Army Field Band, will appear at SUNY Oswego in a free, ticketed concert at 7:30 p.m. April 3, in the Hewitt Union ballroom to deliver their message of patriotism and goodwill through jazz and other swing-related music.
