Once upon a time, movies and live music went hand in hand. Guitarist Alex de Grassi revives that tradition, performing his original score for the classic Japanese film “A Story of Floating Weeds” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9, in SUNY Oswego’s Waterman Theatre.

Quirk’s Players of G. Ray Bodley High School are placing finishing touches on their fall production, What The Bellhop Saw. The fast-paced farce by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore will be presented Friday and Saturday in the GRB Auditorium. Curtain time is set for 7:30 both nights and tickets are available at the door.

Oswego Players’ director Richard Mosher and his cast are busy with rehearsals for the next to last show of the Players’ 75th season. It has been a great time with all the members working toward a common goal of continuing to bring quality community theatre to our very faithful audiences.

Nashville folk-americana songwriter Louise Mosrie will be performing at Oswego Music Hall on November 2. The doors open at 7:15 p.m. Performance will be at 8 p.m. Louise is a winner of numerous songwriting awards from folk festivals around the country such as Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in Hillsdale, NY, Kerrville Folk Festival in Kerrville, Texas and Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Telluride, Colo.

The staged recreation of the “panic broadcast” about an invasion from the planet Mars will run as a one night only event on October 30 – the 75th anniversary of the original CBS radio broadcast. Curtain time is 8 p.m. on the Jubilee Hall stage of Holy Trinity Church, 309 Buffalo St.

The fall Oswego Players’ production of “On Borrowed Time,” directed by Richard Mosher, will feature his father, Wayne Mosher Jr. in the lead role of “Gramps.” Lionel Barrymore originated the part on Broadway, even though wheelchair bound.
