Oswego Players Announce Dates For ‘Life With Father’
The Oswego Players will present the second production of their 2012 Season in late-April. Show dates are: April 27 and 28 at 8 p.m., May 4 and 5 at 8 p.m. and May 6 at 2 p.m.

Oswego Community Youth Orchestra To Present Witches, Wizards and Whimsy
This spring concert will feature music from the movies Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Fantasia 2000, and Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Rings. Also featured will be an original work based on the Legend of Sleepy Hollow and selections from the opera, Hansel and Gretel.
Professor’s Dual-Orchestra Piece To Premiere Tuesday At OHS
SUNY Oswego music faculty member’s Juan F. La Manna’s original composition “Three Pieces for Two Orchestras” will debut Tuesday as the College-Community Orchestra teams with the Oswego Middle School Orchestra. The free performance will take place at in the Ralph M. Faust Auditorium at Oswego High School.
Oswego Players Continue Season With ‘Life With Father’
Director Bobby Fontana has chosen and oldie, “Life with Father,” by Clarence Day, published shortly after the author’s death in 1938. Surprisingly, in research going back to the Players’ formation in, coincidentally, 1938, this will be the first Players’ presentation of this fine show.

When John and I were in Roscommon, Ireland, during June 2011 I contacted Sarah Browne to set up a cooking experience featuring Irish food. I was surprised to learn that in Ireland the traditional dish is bacon and cabbage served with a side of Savoy cabbage boiled in the bacon water, accompanied by champ which is mashed potatoes seasoned with scallions, milk, and butter along with salt and pepper.
