‘Women Aloud’ To Celebrate Growth Of Feminism In Dance, Song, Readings
The SUNY Oswego women’s studies department’s 23rd annual “Women Aloud” performances on March 8, will highlight 150 years of growth and change in feminism on the theme “Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future.”
Grammy-winning tenor saxophonist David Sanchez will bring a blend of Latin and Afro-Caribbean influences to a very American musical language in a SUNY Oswego concert March 7.
The Mardi Gras Season in Lake Charles begins on “Twelfth Night” (January 6) and ends on Fat Tuesday, which is the day before the Lenten season begins. This year Fat Tuesday falls on February 21. Anytime during this period is the perfect time to enjoy King Cakes – they are delicious, colorful and fun. While we were in Lake Charles, Louisiana, we visited the Mardi Gras Museum.
