Oswego City Band & Jazz Band Schedule 8 Summer Concerts
The City of Oswego and The Musicians Union of Oswego County are pleased to announce the schedule of FREE concerts for 2011. All concerts are scheduled for Wednesday evenings in Breitbeck Park.

Rice Creek Rambles, free naturalist-led walks at SUNY Oswego’s ecologically diverse biological field station, will take place at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. every other Saturday from mid-July to mid-August.

As part of SUNY Oswego’s Alumni Weekend the DKK Alumni Association is sponsoring a Déjà vu reunion concert on June 10 from 9 p.m. until midnight behind GS Steamers / The Econolodge, East First Street. Headlining the concert will be Oswego’s own Frostbit Blue.

This summer, Fort Ontario State Historic Site in Oswego, will host nine separate – (one week long) military history activity sessions for children ages 8-18. The sessions will be led by AmeriCorps staffer Ian Mumpton. The programming is aimed at getting young people outside and active during the summer.
The Native Circle Touch the Earth Festival returns to the shores of Great Lake Ontario this weekend. Admission and parking are free for this two-day event at Mexico Point State Park, just off state Route 104B. The festival will run from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

This Friday evening is one of the major musical events of the year. An “Evening of Big Band Jazz” will showcase the Oswego Middle School Jazz Band as well as the Oswego High School A and B Jazz Ensembles. This year’s featured guest will be Lew Soloff who is known for his performances with Blood, Sweat and Tears.
Members of the Fulton Community Band are from Red Creek, Oswego, Phoenix, Chittenango, Cicero, Liverpool, Fair Haven, Parish, Baldwinsville and Fulton. Included are active and retired teachers, people from all walks of life ranging in age from high school students thru those in their 70’s.
