There isn’t anyone looking forward to the opening day of the New York Yankees’ 2014 season more than Springside’s Mille McCann. When the snow finally melts this spring and baseball becomes the nation’s pastime once again, she will be watching her grandson, catcher Brian McCann, who recently signed a multi-million dollar contract with the team.

In keeping with its tradition of supporting Wear Red Day, Oswego Health employees are encouraging community members to join them in wearing the color red on February 7 to help raise awareness that heart disease is the number one killer of women. The goal of this national initiative is to alert women about their risk for heart disease and motivate them to take steps to lower their risk.

Oswego Health is offering an ongoing flu shot clinic, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. while supply last, at the Fulton Medical Center Occupational Health office location at 510 S. Fourth St., Fulton.

The Manor at Seneca Hill will host a stroke survivor’s support group from noon until 1 p.m. the first Thursday of each month. The initial meeting will be Feb. 6.
