Sorry to have to bring up such a nasty subject, but my cat Cleo has really bad breath. Since nothing that I say to her about it seems to work, (as always she just ignores any criticism) I thought I would turn to you for help. What could be causing it and what should I do?

Help!  We have always been conscientious about using a topical flea and tick product on our pets, and that has always seemed to be effective. But we have never started it before May at the earliest and now our dog Bozo is coming in with ticks almost every day. In April! What is going on?

Easter is coming up and I am thinking about getting a baby bunny for my kids. My  eight year old has dropped hints about it, and  I think she  would really enjoy having one.  Do you have any tips about bunny care?

Do cats have mood swings?   What kind of question is that?  Is the earth round?  Does water run down hill?  Of course cats have mood swings.

My dog and cat are both due for their annual vaccinations and I was all set to make the appointment, but then another pet-loving friend just forwarded a link to a website about holistic health care for pets  that said that vaccinations can cause all kinds of problems in our pets, including cancer.

I took my dog, Spot, in for a checkup last week and was talking to my vet about his heartworm preventative for the summer. He said that he pill I have been using for years, Interceptor, may not be available this year and then he gave me a lot of very confusing information about what I could use as an alternative.

Maybe you can help me. I know you usually give advice about dogs and cats, but my question is about horses. I have been driving by a small pasture where several horses seem to be living and I can’t see that they have any shelter at all and they seem to be standing in mud all the time.

My cat Cleo is ten years old and she is finally beginning to slow down after a lifetime of relentlessly chasing little pink mice all over the house. But I don’t want her to slow down too much.

I just brought my wonderful cat, Waldo, back from his annual physical and my vet says he’s fat!  Well, she used the word obese, like that would be easier to hear, but I am still embarrassed.  She said I should try to help him lose weight, but how?
