The Hannibal Historical Society will host Marilyn Dirk, a Civil War re-enactor for 14 years, who will portray Belle Boyd, the famous Southern Spy, also known as “The Cleopatra of the South,” on April 24 at 7 p.m. at the Hannibal Community Center on Oswego Street in Hannibal.
A state-administered grant program recently boosted its longtime support of SUNY Oswego’s Rice Creek Field Station to $175,000 over five years — a $10,000-a-year bump that has enabled hiring of student curators for animal collections and much more.

Don’t spend Spring Break inside! Come celebrate Earth Week at the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center with a Geocaching Egg Hunt. On April 20 from 1:30 – 3 p.m., this family-oriented program will teach participants how to use a GPS unit and then hunt for eggs in the woods.
