To raise awareness of United Way’s impact area of ending hunger in Oswego County, Bistro 197 on West First Street in downtown Oswego and Fajita Grill, 451 S. Second St. in Fulton will host United Way “Dine With Us” nights.

Fairgrieve Elementary School didn’t have to go far this year to find children’s book authors to speak to students in grades three through six.

Fairgrieve Elementary School’s top four spellers in grades four through six will advance to the 2016 Post Standard/WCNY Spelling Bee, to be held January 16 at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse.

The Fashion Design Club at Sandy Creek High School will hold an indoor rummage sale on December 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.

Just before Thanksgiving, members of the Oswego Firefighter’s Association, IAFF Local #126, gathered at the local Human Concerns Center to package up turkey, vegetables, stuffing, and all the other fixings for those in need.

Fairgrieve Elementary students who have shown appreciation and returned kindness to teachers and fellow students throughout the month of November received gratitude recognition during a Morning Express program.

The Frances Marion Brown Theater has been alive with children preparing for the upcoming Oswego Players’ production of Barbara Robinson’s classic Christmas play, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.” The play will open on Dec. 11.
