Job seekers who are looking to upgrade their skills can now enroll in an on-line learning system through the One Stop Career Center operated by the Oswego County Workforce New York office.

SUNY Oswego’s high-tech new signs will glow purple overnight Oct. 20 into Oct. 21, to help the campus “Shine the Light on Domestic Violence,” including dating abuse.

On October 18, a pancake breakfast will be held at Lake City Masonic Lodge No. 127 at 127 E. Seneca St. The hours will be from 8 a.m. until noon to support Hospice.

The Minetto United Methodist Church will host a free dinner on October 25, serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The menu will be beef stew, mashed potatoes, beets, corn bread, and dessert. Donations are not expected but will be accepted.

Harvest season means that turkey will highlight the menu at the annual Harvest Turkey Dinner at the Minetto United Methodist Church on October 17, beginning at 4 p.m. Customers who prefer to eat at home can go inside for carryout service or use the drive-thru take-out line.

Building on the success of Oswego’s first PorchFest, the organizers have developed an Oswego PorchFest Concert Series called “Paying It Forward,” which will feature some of the talent who performed at Oswego PorchFest 2015.

Douglas Barclay Courthouse, Pulaski.
