Oswego County Opportunities Welcomes New Employees

Dr. Jerry Exline, well-known musical talent and teacher, will provide a piano recital on May 9 at 2 p.m. at Faith United Church, 12 Mark Fitzgibbons Drive, Oswego (next to the Middle School).
The first Kingsford Park Elementary School Bookmark Contest was held over the past month, according to Jeremy Shanly, the contest organizer and KPS library media specialist. Students designed their bookmarks based around the theme “So much to see and do at my school library.”
The Oswego County Health department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County, including preventive health services, certified home health care, certified hospice, and a maternal and child health program.
Pulaski High School student Sarah Clark earned national recognition and a silver medal in The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards of 2015. Clark has been identified by panels of creative professionals as one of the most talented young artists in the nation. 300,000 works of art and writing were submitted and only one percent of those students were recognized at the national level.
The Fulton City School District recently brought in local businesses and organizations for a “Making Connections Day,” aimed at educating teachers and staff on the career opportunities that are available for students in the community. Fields such as human services, government, business, technology, agriculture and more were present.
One of the area’s most anticipated and largest golf tournaments, the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s Annual Golf Classic is looking to be bigger than ever this year. Scheduled for July 13, the event will be held at one of Central New York’s finest private golf courses, the Oswego County Club.
Students in the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation Project Explore program recently constructed bluebird houses and bat houses for the Oswego County Soil and Water Conservation District’s 44th annual spring tree and shrub sale.
The event will be held May 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and May 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 758 State Route 176, just west of Fulton.
