Senior Takes Crown As Mr. Phoenix 2015
A group of nine John C. Birdlebough High School students recently competed in the pageant-style competition in hopes of being crowned Mr. Phoenix 2015. With a combination of intelligence, humor and elegance, senior Wyatt Parker was awarded the title of Mr. Phoenix.
ARISE Offers New Traumatic Brain Injury Support Group
ARISE has recently formed a new Traumatic Brain Injury Peer Support Group. The group, led by Shannon Morrell, will be held on the second Tuesday of each month from 6-7 p.m. at the ARISE Oswego Office, 9 Fourth Ave.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, a division of SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations, is now accepting registrations for “6 Steps to Better Balance,” a six-step approach to Better Balance developed by Betty Perkins-Carpenter, Ph.D., Senior Fitness Productions. Dr. Betty is a nationally renowned expert on falls prevention who has made improving balance easy for everyone.

‘Crinkleroot,’ Critters, Creating Art To Enliven Rice Creek Spring Programs
Story Hour, Sustainable Art and Rice Creek Rambles programs at 11 a.m. on selected Saturdays will celebrate spring at SUNY Oswego’s Rice Creek Field Station. Rice Creek will accept registrations through early June for two summer programs: Exploring Nature for children and Conservation Field Studies for teens.
Clarinetist, Accompanists To Perform Range Of Classical Music
SUNY Oswego faculty member Trevor Jorgensen will present a clarinet recital featuring works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Claude Debussy, Gioachino Rossini and Aram Khachaturian at 7:30 p.m. April 21, in Sheldon Hall ballroom. The date represents a change from the original for this event in the schedule for Focus on Faculty, a series presented by the SUNY Oswego music department.
Cooking Can Be Murder Coming To Hannibal Stage
Hannibal High School’s drama club, Purple Gallery, will present “Cooking Can Be Murder” by Eddie McPherson on April 15 and 16 at 7 p.m. in the Lockwood Auditorium. This parody murder mystery is a silly comedy filled with puns, gags and ridiculous situations.
