The National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy is pleased to announce that Suzanne Burdick, RN, ADON of St. Luke Health Services in Oswego has successfully passed the national certification exam to become Wound Care Certified.
The Nov. 15 edition of Story Hour at SUNY Oswego’s Rice Creek Field Station will feature the children’s book “A Coming of Winter in the Adirondacks” by Brian J. Heinz with illustrations by Maggie Henry of Oswego. Henry will appear at the free public program, which will begin at 11 a.m. at the station on Thompson Road in the town of Oswego.
The city of Fulton is currently taking registrations for the Adult Indoor Tennis Program at the Fulton War Memorial, 609 W. Broadway. Pickup games can be played at the War Memorial Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon beginning with session 1 from November 1 to February 13.
Members and volunteers of the Fulton Tree Committee and the Fulton Lions Club mulched trees at the Fulton Tree Nursery located at North Bay on October 18. Trees being grown there will be planted throughout the city in green spaces and areas where older trees have been cut down.
Members of Cub Scout Pack 888 from Oswego recently toured the Oswego County Legislature Chambers. They met with Legislature Chairman Kevin Gardner and Clerk of the Legislature Wendy Falls.
Due to a grant written by a member of the Oswego Tree Stewards, with acceptance by the Oswego Renaissance Association, free Linden and Red Oak tree whips will be given to any homeowner in the First Ward or Third Ward to plant on their property.
Bassoonist Gregory Quick will perform at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 12, in Sheldon Hall ballroom as part of SUNY Oswego’s Ke-Nekt Chamber Music Series. Quick’s repertoire will highlight the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, Camille Saint-Saens, Astor Piazzolla and others.
Dancing princesses flooded the Granby Elementary auditorium at the Halloween Party sponsored by the Parent-Teacher Group the night before Halloween. Disney Princess Elsa from the movie “Frozen” seemed to be a popular costume choice among the youngsters in Granby.
The Oswego County Bar Association recently voted to approve the report of the Judicial Screening Committee that found both candidates for Oswego County Family Court, to wit: James K. Eby and Lou Anne Rucynski Coleman, to be “Recommended as Qualified” for the position.
