Oswego Lions Club to Hold Annual Cow Chip Bingo

Oswego Lions Club will hold its ninth annual “Cow Chip Bingo” fundraiser on September 13 at Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego. The “Cow Chip Bingo” will take place on a special field that will be sectioned off into 520 square yard plots. “Deeds” are being sold for $5 for each square yard plot. Once “Poopsie” the cow is released onto the field, whoever owns the plot that “Poopsie” fertilizes, will walk away with $500.

Karen Ferguson recently joined Oswego Health as the Director of the newly created Oswego Health Foundation. The Oswego Health Foundation, a 501(c)(3), exists to provide all community entities, including individuals, businesses, foundations and others, the opportunity to give to and support the various programs, projects and components of the Oswego Health system, which include Oswego Hospital, Springside at Seneca Hill, The Manor at Seneca Hill and other Oswego Health affiliates.

It’s time for one of the hottest games in town, the eighth annual Diane Falise Memorial Scrabble Fest, a fund raiser for Literacy Volunteers. To be held September 19, at the Elks Lodge, 132 W. Gillibrand Calls For Barge Canal To Be Placed On Natinal Register of Historic Places

U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand urged the National Park Service to place the Barge Canal on the National Register of Historic Places. Including the Erie Canal, Oswego Canal, Champlain Canal and Cayuga-Seneca Canal, this designation would expand opportunities for federal historic tax credits and other resources, to support economic development initiatives near the Barge Canal.

Yard sales, bargain shopping, treasure hunting, fundraising – all these and more describe CNY Arts Center’s fourth annual Arts Market set for Sept 13 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the old Nestles parking lot on Fay Street. Timed to coincide with Fulton’s annual City-Wide Yard Sale, CNY Arts Center will host another gathering of artists, crafters, flea market and food vendors, to serve a feast for the sidewalk shopper this time with an emphasis on fundraising for the organization.
