Hundreds of thousands of dollars were awarded to Hannibal High School students during a year-end awards ceremony June 18. The funding, which came in the form of grants, scholarships and awards, will help defray some of the costs for students to attend college.
Jacqueline Novak, a senior and member of the National Honor Society at Pulaski High School, has been named one of 200 state finalists in the National Honor Society Scholarship from the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
The Hannibal American Legion will be holding a benefit for the family of Dylan Blair. A spaghetti dinner will be held at Legion on July 10.
State Senator Patty Ritchie has announced Central New Yorkers helped to “fight the bite,” disposing of nearly 4,000 waste tires at free events that took place at several locations throughout Oswego County this past weekend.
The State University of New York at New Paltz recently conferred more than 1,000 undergraduate degrees during its 2014 Commencement ceremonies on May 18.
These promotions additionally recognize the best qualified soldiers and attract and retain the highest caliber citizen soldiers for a career in the New York Army National Guard.
Beginning June 30 and ending Aug. 29, offices will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Department of Motor Vehicles offices in Oswego, Fulton and Pulaski will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. during July and August.
The award is the first of three distinctions possible through the National Quality Award program, presented by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living. The program honors centers across the nation that have demonstrated their commitment to improving quality care for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
A student at G. Ray Bodley High School, she is a member of the lacrosse and cross country teams. Hudson also participates in the Member of Science Club, the Ski Club, the German Club and the Environmental Club. She is in the top 25 of her class, is a high honor roll student and is a member of the National Honor Society.
Phoenix High School students have been trailblazers in the classroom and their efforts were celebrated during a June 13 ceremony in the auditorium. The assembly honored 42 students with Blaze Awards, which recognized ninth through 12th graders for dedication, effort, work ethic, commitment, service, discipline and communication.
