Wednesday at 9 a.m., the Cleveland Elementary principal Mike Smolnik did a Polar Bear Plunge into Oneida Lake. This was part of a challenge to raise items for the North Shore food pantry that is run out of the Cleveland Elementary School.
There were plenty of reasons to celebrate at Fairgrieve Elementary School on Thursday as 22 students earned recognition for their good behavior and the glee club performed a song. During the school’s Morning Express program the fourth-grade glee club sang “From the Inside Out,” which underscored the importance of self-control, April’s Virtue of the Month.
The overnight package will be one of the featured door prizes at the raffle drawing event on May 31. In addition to the many prize giveaways, the “Bundle of Bucks” Raffle drawing will pay cash prizes totaling up to $25,000 when all tickets are sold.

The 33rd Annual Fulton Service Clubs’ Memorial Day Salute Parade is scheduled for May 24 at 10 a.m. The parade theme this year is “Showing Gratitude To Our Veterans.”
Several years ago, (when I was young(er) and foolish(er) I got a beagle puppy. I named her Randy and she was a great dog. But after only about six months she ran off and although I tried really hard, I could never find her. I felt terrible and stupid and vowed to never make that mistake again.
The community is invited to watch a newly released movie at First United Church of Fulton, 33 S. Third St., on April 27 at 2 p.m. The community is also invited to share in one evening Wills and Trusts Seminar to be held at First United Church on May 1 at 7 p.m.
SUNY Oswego’s College-Community Orchestra will perform a free concert at 6 p.m. May 4, in Sheldon Hall ballroom. The orchestra’s director, Juan F. La Manna of the college’s music department, will conduct.
Community members interested in enjoying their own garden fresh, homegrown vegetables or the beauty of a fresh flowerbed are invited to be a part of this year’s Fulton Community Garden Project. The Nutrition Collaboration is currently soliciting Fulton city residents interested in participating in the Community Garden Project.
