Goodsell Retires After 35 Years With Sheriff’s Department

On May 17 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Faith United Church, located next to the middle school at 12 Mark Fitzgibbons Drive, will host its annual plant and yard sale. Indoor and outdoor plants will be sold on the church lawn.
The First Congregational Church of New Haven is holding an eat-in or take-out dinner on May 3 from noon until dinners are gone. You may preorder with payment of $10. Preorders are to be picked up between noon and 2 p.m.
There will be a Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church. The service starts at 7 a.m. Everyone is invited to attend to help celebrate this solemn day.
Trinity Catholic School’s Fun Fling 2014 will be a Luau Tropical Paradise. It’s scheduled for April 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Priory Hall, St. Paul’s Church. There will be tropical fun for all ages; games, activities and prizes.
The Oswego Tree Stewards are out Saturdays in the streets with volunteers to care for the city’s trees. The schedule is as follows (meet at the corner at 10 a.m.)
POMCO Group, one of the nation’s largest benefits administrators, made a donation of $1,000 to support Oswego County Opportunities’ annual Retro Bowl fundraising event which took place on April 5 at Lakeview Lanes in Fulton.
The Fulton City School District invites children who turn five years old by December 1, 2014 to register for Kindergarten. Children who will turn four years old by December 1, 2014 are invited to register for our Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program.
Hosted by Delta Kappa Kappa, in collaboration with SUNY Oswego’s Men’s Varsity Ice Hockey team, the ‘For the Kids’ fundraiser was the culmination of a campaign created by students Denvol Haye, president of DKK, and Eli Kim Swallow, a forward on the hockey team, to raise money for the CAC and to help raise awareness of child abuse.
Volunteers of all ages gathered recently for a celebration in their honor at St. Luke Health Services. The theme of this year’s luncheon event, “Volunteers Rock,” transformed the Riverview Room at St. Luke into a 1950s diner.
