A tradition of excellence continues for the Phoenix Central School District. The district’s percussion ensemble captured first place in the New York State Percussion Circuit Championships on April 6. The 22-member state champion group consists of students in grades eight through twelve who are more than just musicians.

Lee White Maritime Museum is pleased to host the second history lecture of the 2014 series on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The topic will be “Battle Island, July 3, 1756: Ambush on the Oswego River.” presented by historian Steve Wapen. The program will be held at the museum and is open to the public.
