There will be a Blessings in a Backpack Blast Fundraiser on March 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, 120 W. Fifth St., Oswego.
Zink Shirts, 19 E. Cayuga St., will hold an opening for Rochester controversial surrealist artist, Sean Madden. The opening event will begin March 8 at 8 p.m. The show will run for the month of March.
In order to qualify for the Dean’s List at Loyola, a student must have a GPA of at least 3.5 with a minimum of 15 credits.
“As we continue to battle Mother Nature, the Oswego Fire Department again reminds all residents having the time and means to check and see that their neighborhood fire hydrant is clear of snow and ice,” according to Chief Jeff McCrobie. With the steady accumulation that has taken place in the past few days we have again begun the task of digging out the more than 900 city fire hydrants, he said.
Oswego City School District has planned a district wide event called the “Battle of the Books,” with plans to use this program as reading incentive for students. This event, which is a nationwide program, is taking place Monday, March 3, at 6 p.m. in the High School Faust Theatre.
The Alzheimer’s Association, Central New York Chapter has announced that today’s (Feb. 26) Alzheimer caregiver support group at The Manor at Seneca Hill in Oswego has been canceled due to the weather.
Career and Technical Education high school students from Oswego County BOCES were awarded medals in 32 separate competitions during the SkillsUSA Section II Regional Competition on Feb 13.
The following local residents graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in Fall 2013. Please note some students may have received more than one degree.
CNY Arts Center recently received a $250 contribution from Constellation Energy Nuclear Group for their upcoming production of Willy Wonka Jr. The children’s musical, with more than 30 children in the cast, will debut March 14 for a two-week run at CNY Arts Center, 357 State St., in Fulton.
