The Oswego Public Library’s Library Learning Center will offer a Tax Prep Resources workshop on February 28. In addition, the library’s Library Learning Center will feature Downloading Ebooks for Ipad and Android Tablets, Intro to Excel, Photoshop Elements for Artists, Photosharing and Medicare Made Simple on other days.
The Oswego County Legislature’s Finance and Personnel Committee presented Mary Rebeor with a certificate of appreciation for her 20 years of service. Rebeor is a senior typist with the Oswego County Personnel Department.
Megan K. Clevenger of Sandy Creek is one of 94 students at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg named to the university’s President’s List for the fall semester of the 2013-14 academic year. Clevenger is a senior at the University of Mary Washington.
As part of Oswego Health’s heart-healthy activities during February, board-certified cardiologist Thomas Grady Jr., will be the guest speaker at an Ask the Doctor presentation at 6 p.m. February 18. His presentation will be held in the lower level JPC conference room of the Oswego Health Services Center, which is adjacent to Oswego Hospital.
Oswego County Opportunities has received a five-star rating on a performance evaluation “report card” issued by the New York State Office for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. A five-star rating is the highest possible overall score, requiring scores of 96% or higher in all categories.
Wheaton College student Timothy Miller of Richland was named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2013 semester. Miller is majoring in Applied Health Science.
Members of the New York Air National Guard received recognition for their service in a combat zone on Feb. 9 during the 174th Attack Wing Hometown Heroes Salute ceremony for all units on the Air National Guard Base in Syracuse.
Together they are working on year-long writing project that will culminate in a storybook detailing the interests, activities and some personal history of residents, as composed by the students.
