The Sandy Creek Junior Varsity (JV) Cheerleaders took first place at the West Genny Sweetheart Classic on February 1. The team, coached by Rachel Paige, took home their first competition first place award.

The 2014 Central New York Boat Show has added new excitement to attract visitors to the New York State Fairgrounds on February 12-16.

The Oswego Public Library Board of trustees will hold its business meeting on the first Tuesday of every month. [February 4, March 4, April  1, May 6 and June 3]. The meetings are held at 7 p.m. in the Board Room located on the lower level of the library. The public is welcome to attend.

Volney Elementary School students were treated to a spirit assembly Jan. 31 in recognition of their positive behavior and for being role models. Students from all grades united in the auditorium to sing “You Can Count on Me” prior to Principal Lisa Garofalo recognizing one student from each classroom for exemplifying the character trait of tolerance.

Dozens of Fairgrieve Elementary School students were in the spotlight Jan. 23 during the daily Morning Express program. The fourth grade glee club kicked things off with a song that reflected tolerance, the January character virtue.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

The Pulaski Varsity Girls’ Volleyball team won the OHSL Patriot National Division Title this year with a record of 13-4. In doing so, secured a home sectional game against Herkimer on Friday beginning at 6 p.m.

The Pulaski Academy and Central School District Board of Education approved a resolution to bring capital improvement projects, totaling $12,081,100 to voters in a March 11 referendum vote.
