Jacqueline Martin from Fulton graduated from Paul Smith’s College this December with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Martin, who majored in culinary arts, was honored for the achievement by receiving the President’s Award at the commencement ceremony on Dec. 8.

Oswego High School Student Council members like to enhance the holiday season for kindergarten students. The tradition continued this year as one of the stops was at Mary Lynne Maxwell’s classroom at Kingsford Park Elementary School.

During the month of December, members of Prince of Peace Church fill up small, colorful cardboard barns with loose change. The money goes to help buy animals for hungry people around the globe.

The Live and Love Life Oswego community blood drive is on tap for December 30 to support Cooper Levine’s fight against acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The drive will be held at the American Legion, 69 W. Bridge St., between noon and 6 p.m.

Children and their parents are invited to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season and sport their fleece and flannel PJs for the fifth annual Polar Express Pajama Party. The event will take place at Oswego High School on Dec. 20, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Universal Pre-Kindergarten students in Michaelene Webb’s class at the Frederick Leighton Elementary School are preparing for the holidays by making gingerbread houses for their families.

The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County, including preventive health services, certified home health care, long-term home health care, certified hospice, and a maternal and child health program.
