Construction at St. Francis Commons Assisted Living Residence in Oswego has moved indoors. While crews complete roofing, window and exterior siding installation, framing work, drywall, plumbing fixtures and electrical conduit are being installed to the interior of the residence.
North Volney Methodist Church will host a free gospel concert on May 18 featuring the 4Given Strangers. This is an experienced group of singers that have appeared in many places in Central New York.

AmeriCorps is a national service program whose members learn valuable skills while receiving a living allowance and earning an education award for tuition or student loans. In the past, many college students have found the summer AmeriCorps program provides them an experience related to their college studies, while helping to pay for their education.
Pat found a black and white female cat which had been hit by an auto within 3 miles south of North Country Veterinary Hospital on the morning of April 23. He took it to North Country (where he had just been with Earl Gray Cat, which suffered a similar injury) so is now having it treated for head injury and a broken hind leg.
The new home of SUNY Oswego’s Rice Creek Field Station will open for fall-semester classes in late August, and trails will remain open to the public as construction wraps up. Rice Creek’s faculty and staff, along with its collections totaling 4,500 specimens, will move into the new 7,200-square-foot field station beginning July 8.
The month of May at Lakeside Artisans, 191 W. First St., brings flowers in the form of a “Grow With Us” packet of seeds for your actual garden and some creative seeds for you to grow artistically.
