Eagle Beverage is proud to announce the wrap up of its “Paint the Town Black” fundraiser. With the help of more than 40 taverns, restaurants, and convince stores they were able to raise more than $2,300 that will be donated to local fire departments in the area.

Fairgrieve Elementary School recently recognized students for their exemplary demonstration of the district’s monthly virtues. March’s virtue of the month was Perseverance.

Several SkillsUSA students at Oswego County BOCES’ Burton Ramer Technical Career Center were awarded scholarships to attend Lincoln Technical Institute/College of Technology by Andy Trugillo, a representative from the school.

Volney Elementary School fourth grade classes were treated to a special guest visitor recently. Linda Russell from the New York Council for the Humanities presented a special speaker in the schools presentation all about colonial life. The students are studying the colonial period as part of the fourth grade social studies curriculum.

Plenty of additions are being brought to River Walk West in 2013, which has been a staple venue at Harborfest for more than two decades. C’s Beverage Center and Farm Market, located in Oswego, has been a longtime supporter of the festival and will welcome some of the best local and regional acts to the “Veterans Stage” again in 2013.

Oswego High School students and parents filled the Sheldon Hall ballroom at SUNY Oswego April 17 for College Information Night. This presentation was brought to the community by the Oswego High School counselors in conjunction with Daniel Griffin, Associate Dean of Admissions at SUNY Oswego.

In this free workshop, the instructor will discuss how to use Twitter to promote their business or organization, how to network with professionals, and how to utilize Twitter with other social media platforms such as Pinterest and Facebook.

Oswego County Workforce New York staff have begun final preparations for a panel discussion of local employers at the new Cayuga Community College campus, 11 River Glen Plaza, Fulton from 1 to 4 p.m. May 7.  The event is free and open to the public.
