HHW Facility Will Close for Season Sept. 29

Oswego County residents have until the end of September to get rid of household hazardous waste products at the county’s disposal facility in Volney. The collection facility is open Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 to 11 a.m.

What’s Up With the Colored Fire Hydrants?

Through their hydrant testing program, the department has been testing and painting the tops per NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) guidelines. The different colors indicate the amount of water flow for that particular hydrant which will improve overall efficiency.
