State Senator Patty Ritchie has introduced a bill that would improve motorcycle safety by including awareness training in the DMV’s mandatory, pre-licensing courses. The bill was prompted by a recent uptick in motorcycle related accidents in our region, including four fatal motorcycle accidents already in Oswego this year, more than any full year since 2008.

Deborah Engelke, a SUNY Oswego alumna, local businesswoman and photographer, will display her “visual poems” from May 17 to July 7, at Oswego State Downtown. A free public artist’s reception from 5 to 7 p.m. May 18 will officially open the photography exhibition.
National Technical Honor Society is the highest recognition for outstanding students in career and technical education. Students earning this distinction demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence with a 90 or higher grade point average in their CTE class and an 80 or higher grade point average at their home school district.
