Oswego Industries Announces Employees of the Year

Oswego Industries, Inc., one of the top ten employers in Oswego  County, has announced the winners of its Employee of the Year award for  2009: Barbara Carroll of Oswego and Richard Sitzer III of Sterling.  The  Employee of the Year award is open to anyone participating in  Pre-Vocational or Vocational Rehabilitation programs at Oswego  Industries, Inc., which offers real-world experience on assembly,  packaging, recycling, textiles, and other industry contracts.   Participants are evaluated for effort, progress made towards goals,  attentiveness to task and ability to work cooperatively.  Founded in  1968, Oswego Industries, Inc. is a Community Rehabilitation Program  offering a range of services for individuals with disabilities in Oswego  County.Oswego Industries, Inc., one of the top ten employers in Oswego County, has announced the winners of its Employee of the Year award for 2009: Barbara Carroll of Oswego and Richard Sitzer III of Sterling.

British painter Justina Kerner captured this stare-down in her  1871 oil-on-canvas "Still Life with Monkey and Parrot," one of  nine works featured in a display of poster-style images of works from  SUNY Oswego's permanent collection, at Oswego State Downtown, corner of  West First and Bridge streets, through July 24.SUNY Oswego has unveiled an exhibit through July 24 at Oswego State Downtown of poster-style images of works from its permanent art collection.

Rotarians Bid Farewell to Exchange Student

At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting,  Rotary's exchange  student, Johanna Dominquez visited before leaving for her home on the  southern Mediterranean coast of France.  Flags were exchanged and  Johanna presented a slide program of her life in France.  Pictured from  left is President Donna Kester, Johanna and Mike Schroeder, Youth  Exchange Chair. Rotarians Meet Local Baker

At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Mike DeLorme  introduced Kathy Hotaling, the owner of Kathy's Cakes at 129 Cayuga  Street in Fulton.  Kathy just celebrated her first year anniversary of  her new business.  The bakery offers a wide range of items including  "3-D" cakes, carrot cake, which is a favorite item, along with  half-moon cookies.  Kathy has lunch specials each day and if you bring  in a favorite recipe, she will bake it for you.   The Fulton Sunrise  Rotary meets every Friday at 7 AM at Fulton's Riverside Inn.At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Mike DeLorme introduced Kathy Hotaling, the owner of Kathy’s Cakes at 129 Cayuga Street in Fulton. Harborfest Announces 2010 Design Contest Winner

Austin DeMott's design concept was chosen from hundreds of designs  submitted as part of the Oswego City School District's Harborfest  Design Contest. Harborfest has announced the winning design contest concept for 2010, it was announced today by Harborfest officials. Austin Demott, a 10th grader at Oswego High School, submitted the winning concept.
