The second race of the “Make It Happen 20k Race Series,” the Oswego Little League 5k Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run will take place on June 1.
The Oswego will host auditions for its summer production, the 1960 musical, The Fantasticks on June 11 from 7 until 9 p.m. at the Frances Marion Brown Theater.
Sponsored by Oswego County Workforce New York and the Workforce Development Board, the program allows county residents to sign up for a free six-month license to take courses through the Metrix E-Learning System.
The fifth annual Lake Ontario Central New York Lighthouse Challenge will take place this year on August 4 and 5. The challenge is to visit eight unique New York lighthouses within two days.
The event will take place at Breitbeck Park, on the west side of Oswego; a beautiful setting, where the Oswego River and Lake Ontario meet. Hours for the craft show will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sasha loves being up high and watching her surroundings. She and her best foster pal, Rex, are always playing! Sasha is currently in a foster home with other cats and gets along great with all of them (although her very favorite is Rex. We told you about him last week).

The Oswego Bookmobile staff would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the students of Master Pryor’s Taekwando America. They raised $3,310 to benefit Oswego Bookmobile’s seven-week summer literacy program in Oswego.
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, a division of SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations, will hold a volunteer orientation on June 12 at 10 a.m. at the O’Mara Welcome Center, a restored one-room schoolhouse on State Route 104W, adjacent to the SUNY Oswego Romney Field House. The building now serves as a tourist information center for the area.
