Vegetation Removal Work To Start On Oswego River In Fulton

Brookfield Renewable announced that work will be starting along the Oswego River at Route 57 opposite the Sunoco Ethanol Plant and extending to Huhtamaki Manufacturing. The company will be removing vegetation and trees in order to maintain the structural integrity of what is known at the “berm” along the river. The berm is in place for flood mitigation and dam safety.

Tops Markets today (August 30) provided an update on the progress it is making on its financial restructuring process. The West First Street, Fulton, store is one of the company’s targeted “underperforming stores.” The company today received court approval of its final agreement with the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.

Menter Ambulance Plans for Expansion

A long standing Fulton business is set to nearly triple its size with a building expansion. Menter Ambulance Services has bought or acquired several properties adjacent to the Fulton central headquarters location at 404 Ontario St. The building, currently 5,600 sq. ft., will nearly triple in size to accommodate staff and equipment having doubled since 2013.

Griffin Serves as Fulton BOE President, Welcomes New Members

After a tied vote in early July to determine the Fulton Board of Education president, the seven members of the board came to a decision at last week’s (August 14) regular meeting. Robbin Griffin was elected to the position of board president. Taking the oath of office, the meeting officially welcomed board members Fallon Cooper and Nicholas DeGelorm III who were newly elected to the board in May 2018 as well as re-elected board member Tim Crandell.
