Fulton Man Arrested After Five-Hour Standoff

On Sunday (August 12) at 5:14 a.m., Fulton Police were dispatched to a resident in the 600 block of Ontario Street for the report of a domestic dispute. After approximately five hours, the suspect exited the apartment peacefully and was taken into custody without further incident. He is being held at FPD pending arraignment on several charges.

Annual Hunter Arms Homecoming Weekend Slated for August 24 and 25

Gun collectors and history gurus will gather from all over the country in Fulton for the eighth Annual Hunter Arms Homecoming. The event is hosted by the Friends of History in Fulton, N.Y., Inc. The shoot event will take place Saturday, August 25 at Pathfinder Fish & Game Club on Route 57 in Phoenix, N.Y. Concurrently, there also will be an exhibit both days (Friday and Saturday) at the John Wells Pratt House Museum located on 177 South First St, Fulton, NY, showcasing L.C. Smith Guns and Hunter Arms memorabilia.

Fighting for Fulton: Public Outcry Grows

A group of concerned citizens challenging residents, landlords, and city officials alike to help restore Fulton to its former glory has seemingly doubled in size. Just over a dozen people showed up to Tuesday’s (August 7) regular meeting of the Fulton Common Council to address concerns from drug use to negligent landlords and homeowners throughout the city.

Huhtamaki Supports Fulton Block Builders in More Ways Than One

Mark Southwick and Joe McConnell recently presented Linda Eagan with a check for $1,000.00 to support the Fulton Block Builder (FBB) matching grant program. In addition to the financial support Mark and Joe spent time learning about the program from Linda and John and brainstormed more ways that Huhtamaki could lend more support to this program. One of the most exciting ideas to come out of the session was Huhtamaki’s suggestion to help FBB advertise during the period that FBB applications are being accepted (January through March).

David C. Webb Memorial Park Bathing Beach in Constantia is Closed

The Oswego County Health Department announced today (August 8) that the David C. Webb Memorial Park Bathing Beach on Oneida Lake is closed to swimming due to the visual presence of a blue-green algal bloom. Several public beaches in Oswego County on Lake Ontario remain open to swimming.
