Executive Director of Instruction and Assessment for Fulton City School District, Elizabeth Conners recently broke down the graduation rates for students in the district noting both areas of excellence as well as areas of concern. At the most recent regular board of education meeting held Jan. 26, Conners presented an overview of the graduation rates for the most three most recent graduation cohorts including students who entered high school as freshmen in 2009, 2010 and 2011 and subsequently graduated in four years in 2013, 2014 and 2015. During these years, the graduation rates have differed widely with the most recent graduating class of 2015 reaching a 69-70% graduation rate.

During the early morning hours of Sunday (Jan. 31), Fulton Police were dispatched to a westside neighborhood in regard to an intoxicated male causing a disturbance. Upon arrival Fulton Officers located a male matching the description who was identified as Newlin Negron. It was discovered that Negron was wanted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio.
Current AHL hockey player for the Portland Pirates and Fulton native, Rob Schremp returned to his roots for the 2016 AHL All-Star Weekend (Jan. 31-Feb. 1) at the Syracuse War Memorial. Starting with the AHL All-Stars Skills Competition yesterday (Jan. 31) Schremp performed for the All-Stars East division in the rapid fire event, the pass and score event and the breakaway relay. Geri Geitner, Director of Student Support Services for Fulton City School District brought forth these programs for recognition at Tuesday’s (Jan 26) board of education meeting.
