Fulton, Oswego Councilors Share Ideas To Improve Their Cities

Fulton lawmakers shared the best idea they think they’ve had in a while — renovating homes seized for back taxes and selling them at market value to generate more money to fix up more homes.  Oswego lawmakers talked about their efforts to enforce housing codes in a city with lots and lots of college rentals and some notorious landlords.

It was the first time legislators from the sister cities had gotten together in one room in perhaps decades. […]

The Fulton school district’s $23.6 million construction project is back on track.

Volney Home Destroyed By Fire

There’s no word yet on what caused a house fire in Volney Wednesday.

The home at 1508 County Route 57 was destroyed by fire late in the afternoon. The one-family home is owned by Sandra Audas, according to the county’s online property tax database.

No injuries were reported. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway. […]
