The benefit of additional state aid for the Universal Pre-Kindergarten program in Fulton may soon be lost if the district doesn’t receive a few more students. The district has to enroll 162 students by Oct. 1 or cut a refund check to the state for a portion of state aid money received for the 2008-09 school year. As of Friday, the district was approximately a dozen students short of that goal.
The remnants of Hurricane Ike blew through Central New York overnight, knocking out power and bringing down trees and limbs. An estimated 100,000 customers are without power in Central New York this morning.
The recent influx of cats, and several other animals, from one site in Palermo has severely over-taxed the organization’s resources. Donations of cash, cat box filler or food would be appreciated.
